As the month of March comes to an end, so does the racing off season. We made the most of our last few days in Gulf Shores. We spent one day at the Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola Air Station. This museum is one of the best flight museums I’ve been to. The do a great job of illustrating the changes that flight has made on the Navy and explaining to the public what goes on onboard an aircraft carrier. If I was a kid, I’d have to have been forcibly dragged out of the place. Next to the Museum is the tallest lighthouse on the Gulf Coast. It’s still active, and we were able to climb to top. We had a chance to get in some more bike riding and paddleboarding. We also met quite a few nice people at the RV park. Hopefully we’ll cross paths with them again in the future.
On Friday, we packed up and drove 290 miles North to Barber Motorsports Park for MotoAmerica’s Pre-Season test. This is basically where we shake the cobwebs off of the equipment and brains. There isn’t any racing, but bragging rights are on the table for the fastest guy. We have a couple of weeks before the first event in Atlanta, so we’ll take our time getting there.
Stay tuned.
